Welcome to the first of our crop profiles which we’ll be adding to create a searchable catalogue of the crops we’ve grown on the seed plot.

“Archie” has been bred by Seed Guardian Diane Holness, a key organiser of Bristol Seed Swap since 2016. “Archie” is named in memory of Diane’s beloved cat.

This variety is a dehybridised open open pollinated tomato that Diane has saved selecting the “survivors” from saved from an F1 variety year on year.

It has done well on our plot and even survived a near total polytunnel collapse one windy Friday! 😅 We will have lots of “Archie” available at our Leeds Seed Swaps in 2027.
